Gratitude Garland

Supplies:

• Variety of construction paper
• Scissors
• Glue sticks
• Markers

Directions:

1. Cut construction paper into 8 x 2-inch strips.
2. Distribute a variety of colors to each guest.
3. Each child writes (or dictates to a helper) something that he or she is thankful for on the strips of paper. Be sure to write the child’s name on the back of one of the strips of paper.
4. Using the glue stick, connect each end of the first paper strip to create a link. The second link will loop through the first before it is glued and so forth.
5. Once the chain starts to get a little lengthy, watch as the kids start to realize how much they have to be grateful for! Kids can take these home and get the whole family in on the act…garland can be used on holiday trees or as room decorations!
