Celebration Pins (Craft)

Supplies:

• 3-inch wooden stars, cakes or suns (found at craft stores)
• Decorative ribbon in a variety of fun colors
• Craft paint
• Glitter glue sticks
• Regular glue
• Markers
• Scissors
• Hot glue gun
• Pin backs (found at craft stores)

Directions:

1. Paint your wooden items the desired color(s) and let dry.
2. Ask each child to think of something about them that they’d like to celebrate.
3. Using a contrasting marker, write each guest’s name on the front and any other words that might apply. (i.e. It’s my birthday! I’m a star! Smart Girl! Shine On! Best Big Brother!)
4. Cut ribbon into 5-inch pieces.
5. Using the glitter, glue make an outline along the outside edge of your star and allow to dry.
6. Place a line of glue on back of item and attach ribbon pieces using a variety of colors.
7. Hot glue pin back onto each star. (For safety, an adult should always handle the glue gun.)
