Blessing Box
Supplies:
- Silver or gold wrapping paper
- Small box (a shoe box works well)
- White glue
- Glitter (contrasting color to the paper)
- Small piece of tissue paper for liner
- Confetti
- Several pieces of colorful construction paper
- Scissors
- Fine-tipped marker
- Small pieces of paper
Directions:
- Cut two pieces of silver or gold paper approximately 11⁄2 times the size of the box and wrap (or have an adult help to wrap) the top and then the bottom of the box as you would a present. Pull the ends of the paper up around the box and glue them to the inside of the box. Allow the glue to dry.
- Write the word “Blessings” on the top of the box with white glue. Shake a thick layer of glitter over the word and allow it to dry. Shake off the excess glitter. Decorate the boxes with items such as colorful beads, buttons, and craft jewels.
- Have an adult helper cut a small slit in the top of the box somewhere for the “blessings” to be added.
- Place a piece of tissue paper in the bottom of the box. Shake some confetti into the box and it’s ready to add some blessings.
- Have each person jot down small notes about what they are grateful for and slip them into their box. At home, your party guests can continue adding to the box
whenever a blessing comes their way -- and include other family members in the fun.
- During Thanksgiving, all can open the box and read the blessings!
